Guy Saldanha 1bc57b0221 HOTFIX: Device UUID was missing in GPS fixes. 
Somehow, the generated UUID isn't persisted in preferences.
Temporary work-around: alway generate the (deterministic) UUID.
TODO: Check why preferences don't work.
