avoid client-side NPE in case boat for competitor cannot be resolved;
...
this is a corner case of a league set-up when Competitor and
CompetitorWithBoat get confused, e.g., because a race is loaded with
that competitor and into a regatta that has canBoatsChange==false; then,
the competitors may vary slightly (e.g., just a missing short name will
cause them not to be equal), and hence the boat look-up will fail

generalized handling of MarkProperties referenced by MarkConfiguration;
...
this to solve in particular the issue with submitting a
MarkPropertiesBasedMarkConfiguration with isSaveToInventory==true that
has led to the erroneous creation of yet another MarkProperties object

preserving the optionalPositioning specification when adding MarkProperties to the inventory;
...
this is supposed to still lead to a position to be produced when
handling the mark creation with its position update. So far, the
code has replaced the optionalPositioning field by null explicitly when
taking over the MarkProperties object into the inventory.
